As a photographer, I’ve always been captivated by the idea of capturing human emotions and stories through the lens of my camera. Recently, I embarked on a new adventure: portrait photography.
As I prepared for the shoot, I couldn’t help but feel a mix of exhilaration and nervousness. While I was confident in my technical skills, working with a live model added a new layer of complexity. However, I was determined to embrace the learning curve and grow as an artist.
Addison and I discussed our ideas and collaborated on the overall mood and style we wanted to convey. Her enthusiasm and openness instantly put me at ease, reminding me that photography is about more than just technical expertise; it’s about forging connections and capturing emotions.
One of the most thrilling moments was witnessing Addison’s transformation from one pose to the next. With every click of the shutter, I felt a surge of creative energy, my camera capturing fleeting moments of vulnerability, confidence, and authenticity.
Of course, no creative journey is without its challenges. Balancing technical settings, composition, and directing the model required a level of multitasking I had never experienced before. But within those challenges, I discovered breakthroughs. I learned to communicate more effectively, guiding Addison toward poses that felt natural and expressive. CC is welcome as I hope to advance and capture more intimate moments here in Lima, OH!
